Angels on My Path

On life's winding path, a divine gift I find,
These souls, these angels, with no set design.
With them, happiness is a constant bright light,
Moments of quality that fill my heart with delight.
Together we're unstoppable, a team without fail,
Though sometimes distance sets up a veil.
Prayers and wishes cross the infinite sky,
Seeing them grow is a shared joy, a high.
My life would be a desert without their faithful grace,
Angels sent by the Creator, in their rightful place.
They’re my refuge in my loneliest, darkest night,
Strength in every struggle, my guiding light.
Though detractors may say that I can't succeed,
My angels uplift me, they help me to proceed.
In every decision, in each uncertain stride,
Their support guides me, their love by my side.
"I love you as one loves certain dark things,"
Neruda penned, capturing our bond with its strings.
"If I love you, it’s because you are my love, my accomplice and all,"
Benedetti echoed, in every look, in every call.
"With the poor people of the earth I want to cast my lot,"
José Martí sang, tying our souls in a knot.
Friendship is a refuge, a sincere and tender embrace,
The closest value to happiness in this eternal chase.
